Welcome to the Good Shepherd Religious Education Program.  My name is Michelle Nilsson.  I am the new Religious Educaton Coordinator and Youth Minister here at our Good Shepherd Parish.  I have recently come to Madison from North Carolina.  With my recent marriage, I am now a resident of Wisconsin and very happy to be here to nourish and support the faith development of our young people.

Our Religious Education Program begins classes the week of September 25, 2011.  I hope that you will read through this material and take time to register your child.  Attached you will find the registration forms you need to register your child to in Religious Education program.  Also, you will find the Health Form and the Schedule of Classes for both the High School and Elementary School program.

Registration for  religious education is underway!  If you have children who are of school age and not attending Catholic School it is the expectation of our diocese and parish that they be enrolled in religious education as preparation for first communion and confirmation.  Keep in mind that children who wish to receive sacraments must be enrolled in Religious Education for 2 years prior to the sacrament to be eligible.  Registration forms are available in the entrance of the church in both the St. James and St. Joseph sites.   Registration forms and calendars are also available online on the parish website.   If you have any questions regarding registration, please feel free to contact Michelle Nilsson at 256-3095.

"Confirmation Preparation for 2013"

Here at Good Shepherd Parish, as you know, we only celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation every other year.  But that does not mean that our preparation for the sacrament does not occur this year.  All students who will be receiving confirmation in the year 2013 are still expected to enroll in religious education for the 2011-12 school year.  This year of remote preparation is expected by both our Parish and the Diocese.  Registration forms for Religious Education can be found at the entrance of both churches and on our parish website.  If you have any questions regarding the sacraments of requirements for receiving the sacraments please contact the Office of Religious Education at 256-3095.You can register for the Religious Education program by printing out the attachments and mailing them or delivering them to the Religious Educaton office at 1204 St. James Ct.  The Religious Education Office is located within our St. James School.  Note the attachments at the bottom of this page.  Please fill out the registration and Health Form to register your child for Religious Education Program.    We begin classes the week of September 25.
